Today, Thursday 21st May 2020, Saddle Mountain Hostel turns five years old.
It’s a birthday unlike any of the others we’ve celebrated here in Invergarry. Usually in May the hostel is bustling with guests and our birthday is normally spent getting the hostel ready to welcome back returning guests or check in new ones.
Today should’ve been no exception. In fact, it would’ve been a really busy day for us with a whole hostel changeover as one group checked out this morning and another checked in this afternoon! But this birthday is being spent in lockdown as the world deals with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Even though we don’t have any guests this year we’re still going to celebrate our fifth birthday. There may even be cake!
As is customary in our annual birthday message we like would like to say a few thank yous. Firstly, thanks to our family and friends for their continued support. We are looking forward to being able to see you again, hopefully soon. Thanks also to our guests for their kind words during this difficult time and reassurances that they will be back. And finally, thanks to all the key workers who are keeping the country going during the pandemic.
We hope to be able to celebrate our sixth birthday with you in 2021.
