It’s almost two years since COVID-19 changed the world. Pre-COVID life seems like such a distant memory. Navigating through the pandemic has been a huge challenge, particularly running a business that is set up with sharing at its heart. Still, thanks to government financial support, our hostel community and our loyal guests, we are still here.
We don’t know what the rest of 2022 holds but we are open for business and are optimistic that people will want to return to hostelling. The things that make hostelling so special are coming back. We have dormitory beds available again and our communal facilities are all open without restriction so you can get together with your fellow guests. It’s so lovely to hear the sound of people talking and sharing their stories once more!
We’ve been making some changes to the hostel which we hope make it even better in terms of facilities and your experience when you stay with us. We’ve upgraded all of our bathrooms and now have 5 toilets and 5 showers. We’ve brightened up the hostel too, adding a splash of colour to our rooms and some lovely new art. We hope you like it!
Our website has also been given a makeover so it’s easier for you to find your way around it. We’ve added more information about the hostel’s facilities, new photos to our gallery and a whole new page about the steps we’re taking to be more sustainable. Thanks to Neil of Croft Industries for implementing our changes and Helen’s brother David for his design input.
