COVID-19 Information

Welcome to Saddle Mountain Hostel

The safety and wellbeing of our guests, ourselves and our local community remain our priority. We are following the latest Scottish Government and tourism sector guidance to ensure we have the right processes in place to do this and we have achieved the VisitScotland “We’re good to go” accreditation.

You can help us too. Please protect yourself and protect others by following the latest Scottish Government requirements on travel restrictions and not travelling if you feel unwell, Test and Protect, hand hygiene, physical distancing, wearing face coverings and limits on the number of households and people who can meet indoors.

Whilst we know things will be different, we will do everything we can to make sure you enjoy your stay with us. We want to say thanks for your understanding and support at this time, we really do appreciate it. We hope to see you soon.

From 19th July (indicative date from Scottish Government) different households are permitted to share a bedroom. Physical distancing indoors is reducing to 1m. No physical distancing required between members of a friend/family group but they will require to maintain a physical distance of 1m from other groups. From 9th August (indicative date from Scottish Government) physical distancing requirements and the limits on maximum number of households/people allowed to gather will be removed.
Until 8th August we have 5 private bedrooms on a room-only basis available for between 1 and 5 people. Our shared dormitory rooms are not available but we do have a rate for single occupancy for some of our private rooms if you are travelling on your own. From 9th August we have 4 private rooms for between 2 and 6 people and a mixed sex dormitory room with 4 beds.
Until 18th July only one household (or extended household) is permitted per private bedroom. From 19th July (indicative date) up to 4 households are permitted to share a bedroom. From 9th August (indicative date) there is no limit on the number of households which can share a bedroom.
Yes. If the room you have booked does not have en-suite facilities it will be allocated exclusive use of a toilet and shower (this includes our shared dormitory room when it reopens from 9th August).
No, we are sorry but our communal facilities are not open before 9th August. Each room has a kettle, mugs, tea and coffee so that you can make your own drinks. There is also a small fridge in each room. You can use our microwave to heat up food (by booking a timed slot) and you can also cook outside if you have a camping stove. You cannot use your camping stove in your bedroom as this is against fire regulations. We can provide crockery and cutlery. There are hotels in Invergarry providing meals and takeaways. We will provide you with up-to-date information before you are due to stay with us.
From 9th August (indicative date) our kitchen, dining room, lounge and drying room/laundry will be open. Depending on remaining restrictions we may have to limit the number of people allowed in these rooms at one time.

Less than 1 day before the start of check-in on your arrival date or you don’t show up - the cost of your first two night’s stay will be charged to your card (if your stay was for more than one night). Amendments to bookings are subject to the same cancellation policy. If we are unable to provide you with the accommodation you have booked or a suitable alternative in the hostel we will refund any money you have paid us.
